The analytical company Circana (formerly NPD) has presented a list of the best-selling Xbox 360 games in the US of all time.
The Call of Duty series dominates the ranking: seven games made it into the top 20, with four in the top five. The leader in revenue and number of copies sold is Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
Call of Duty: Black Ops takes second place, Modern Warfare 3 is third, Modern Warfare 2 is fifth, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is in seventh place. Call of Duty: Ghosts (ninth place) is also in the top ten, and World at War is in 13th position.
Among Xbox exclusives, the best is Halo 3 — it takes fourth place. Halo: Reach is in eighth place, and Halo 4 is in tenth.
The Gears of War series is represented by two games: the original is in 19th place, and Gears of War 3 closes the top 20. However, Gears of War 2 did not make the list.
Among Rockstar projects, Grand Theft Auto V, released shortly before the appearance of Xbox One, took sixth place. GTA IV is in 14th place, and Red Dead Redemption is in 18th.
The ranking also includes The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (12th place), Minecraft (15th) and Battlefield 3 (17th).
Circana analyst Mat Piscatella also reported that the Xbox 360 sold 42.7 million consoles in the US, and the best-selling accessory was the Xbox 360 Headset with a total circulation of more than 11.4 million units.
