Paramount Pictures and Activision are preparing a Call of Duty film adaptation with the participation of acclaimed creators — director Peter Berg ("Lone Survivor", "Deepwater Horizon") and screenwriter Taylor Sheridan ("Yellowstone", "Wind River").
According to insider Daniel Richtman, filming will begin in 2026. He also claims that the action will unfold in the modern world — not in the past or future, as has happened in various installments of the game series.
Previously, similar information was shared by another well-known insider, MyTimeToShineHello. According to him, the plot of the film may be inspired by the Modern Warfare subseries or partially by Black Ops, which logically fit into the chosen temporal context.
Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether the film will be a direct adaptation of a specific game or offer a completely new story in the Call of Duty universe. There is no official information about the start date of filming and the premiere yet.
