In the coming months, it will be possible to pre-order new miniatures of Shelob and Gollum for the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game, as well as the "Gollum's Treachery" magazine with nine story scenarios.
Games Workshop has unveiled new plastic miniatures for the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game.
Players will be able to acquire Shelob, the eternally hungry giant spider and offspring of Ungoliant, who spawned the spiders of Mirkwood. After moving to Mordor, she set up her lair in the Cirith Ungol pass, where she resided throughout the Second and Third Ages.
A new Gollum figure will also be available, in his familiar pose on the rocks, and a miniature of poor Frodo, entangled in webs. This version of Frodo is intended for use in the "The Valour of Samwise the Brave" scenario, which will be included in the upcoming 48-page "Gollum's Treachery" magazine.
"Gollum's Treachery" includes nine story scenarios that tell the story of the hobbits' journey through Cirith Ungol and their encounters with Shelob and Gollum. Each scenario can be played separately or as part of a longer campaign, where the rules change depending on whether the forces of Good or Evil win.
The magazine also features a detailed guide to painting Gollum and Shelob with paint recipes and technique descriptions, instructions for painting web-covered Frodo, and tips for creating game tiles depicting Shelob's lair and using them to build a full battlefield.
The Shelob, Gollum, and Ringbearer miniatures will be included in the "The Road to Cirith Ungol: Shelob and Gollum" set. The figures and magazine will be available for pre-order in the coming months.
