In the last 12 months, Ubisoft has laid off about 1,500 employees — all as part of a cost reduction program. Of these, approximately 700 people lost their jobs after March 31, 2025. This was revealed in the company's latest financial report.

The initial goal of the program — to reduce the company's base costs by €200 million by fiscal year 2026 compared to 2023 — was already achieved in 2025. Management stated that the plan was completed «ahead of schedule and with a slight overperformance».

However, employees who have kept their jobs should not relax, because Ubisoft has a new stage ahead: the company intends to further reduce costs by another €100 million by fiscal year 2027 (compared to 2025).

Amid mass layoffs, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot decided to reiterate the company's strategic bet on generative artificial intelligence. According to him, this is «a revolution for the industry on the same scale as the transition from 2D graphics to 3D».
