Publisher Hooded Horse has announced that it will publish Pathbreakers: Roaming Blades, a new turn-based role-playing game from 6 Eyes Studio, the creators of Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark.
Roaming Blades is a classic tactics game in the spirit of Final Fantasy Tactics, but with a hexagonal grid instead of a square one and an emphasis on the adventures of a band of mercenaries.
In combat, up to eight units from the player's squad act on an initiative scale; each is given nine action points per turn for movement and abilities. The usual set of classes (tanks, healers, rogues, bards) is complemented by a choice of two advanced professions upon reaching the required level. Outside of battles, there is an island map, cities, contracts, quests with multiple outcomes, and raids.
The developers immediately promise powerful modding support: Steam Workshop, map and spell editors, and all data is saved in familiar JSON format files.
