Twitch has introduced a new feature for its users: it is now possible to gift a favorite streamer with a thousand subscriptions for $4990 — instead of the previous $5990.
Previously, the maximum was 100 subscriptions, which required ten separate payments.
Explanation: this refers to a paid feature (emojis, icons, exclusive chat or content) that a viewer subscribes to from a streamer for a period of time, not a subscriber.
The package of a thousand subscriptions is still rarely used. Among the first recipients was the popular streamer Emiru, when she was playing Dispatch.
The service positions the offer as a discount: the more subscriptions you buy, the higher the savings. For example, 50 subscriptions will save $299.50, 100 subscriptions — $599.
Twitch emphasizes that this is an opportunity to support favorite streamers and increase audience engagement, while saving money on bulk gifts.
