The creators of "South Park" did not ignore the popularity of the shooter from Embark Studios.
Arc Raiders, which recently became one of the most popular multiplayer games of the year, unexpectedly appeared in a recent episode of South Park. In the episode titled Turkey Trot, viewers noticed Tolkien Black playing the shooter from Embark Studios on Xbox — moreover, several scenes showed actual gameplay footage of the project.
As it turned out, the collaboration happened literally days before the broadcast. Embark's Head of Marketing, Ashley Saint-Germain, shared on LinkedIn that South Park representatives contacted the studio on Monday with a request to use Arc Raiders in the episode. The next day, Embark sent them video materials, and on Wednesday the episode aired.
"Looks like, like Tolkien, many of us just can't get enough of Arc Raiders," Saint-Germain joked, adding that the game's appearance on the show was "the best Thanksgiving gift."
