Former lead writer at Rockstar Games and co-founder of the studio, Dan Houser, sharply criticized the leaders of the generative AI industry in an interview on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio UK.

Speaking about his new audiobook, "A Better Paradise Volume One: An Aftermath," which tells the story of a game project that failed due to overly intelligent artificial intelligence, Houser agreed with the host's thesis that artificial intelligence will never completely replace human creativity because it lacks a soul.

Some of those who are now trying to define the future of humanity and creativity with AI are not the most humane or the most creative people. They seem to be saying, "We are better at being human than you are," and that is obviously not the case. In the book, we touch on the idea that humanity is being pulled in a certain direction by a group of people who may not be fully developed individuals themselves.

When asked if he believes in the grand success of the current wave of AI, Houser answered negatively.

AI will eventually eat itself. Models are trained on data from the internet, but the internet will increasingly be filled with content created by the models themselves. It's like when cows were fed cows - and we got mad cow disease. I don't see how the quality of data will increase if they are already running out of supplies. AI will brilliantly perform some tasks, but not all.
