Jon Peddie Research has published a report on the discrete graphics card (AIB) market for the third quarter of 2025.
AMD's share increased by 0.8% to 7%, which is still below the figures for the first quarter of 2025. Intel added 0.4% and reached 1% of the market for the first time. The growth of competitors led to a decrease in NVIDIA's share by 1.2% to 92%, but the company still maintains a dominant position.
According to the data, the total market volume reached $8.8 billion, and shipments increased to 12 million units — 2.8% more compared to the previous quarter — which is below the average values for the ten-year period for this quarter (11.4%). JPR attributes this to record purchases in the second quarter, which may have been due to increased demand amid the expected increase in tariffs, which partially reduced purchase volumes in the third quarter.
Analysts expect a possible increase in activity in the fourth quarter. The reason is the upcoming increase in prices for video cards, which industry sources are already reporting. Despite the lack of major releases, a number of manufacturers are preparing to revise recommended prices at the beginning of 2026. Such a step may again provoke a wave of "panic buying", similar to the situation in the middle of the year.
