Variety reports that British actor Martin Bobb-Semple has joined the cast of the Tomb Raider series for Amazon Prime Video. The role is being kept secret, but it is known that the actor will be a regular on the show and will play a key character.
Bobb-Semple previously played one of the main roles in the series "All American: Homecoming," where he went from a guest actor to a main cast member. Prior to that, he appeared in the thriller "One of Us Is Lying" and the unsuccessful series "Pandora." Martin has no other major screen work, as he began his career on the London theater stage.
It was previously confirmed that Sophie Turner will play Lara Croft. The project is being created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge ("Killing Eve"), who is the showrunner, screenwriter, and executive producer. She is working on the series with Chad Hodge ("Wayward Pines"), who is also the co-showrunner. Jonathan van Tulleken ("Shōgun", "Misfits") will direct. Filming is scheduled to begin on January 19, 2026.
The expected premiere date is still being kept secret.
