Embracer Group has finally parted ways with two more companies acquired during the period of aggressive expansion, which ended in collapse after a $2 billion deal fell through. Remnant II publisher Arc Games and Cryptic studio (Star Trek Online, Neverwinter) have left the wing of the Swedish holding company.
The buyout was made possible thanks to financial support from Chinese XD Inc. All employees of both companies retain their jobs, and the current organizational structure remains unchanged — this is a rare case of a "soft" separation from Embracer, in contrast to the closure of Volition Games and Free Radical Design.
We are grateful for our time as part of the Embracer Group and for everything we have achieved in the company's more than 15 years of existence. Now, as an independent publisher, we will be able to fully realize our vision — to collaborate with the best developers around the world and release outstanding games. 2026 already promises to be one of the most ambitious and innovative in our history.
