The film distribution company «Volga» has released a new, extended trailer for the movie «Return to Silent Hill», dubbed in Russian. This is a new adaptation of the cult game Silent Hill 2 from Konami, and fans of the project will be pleased to know that the trailer includes scenes that were not shown in the English-language versions.
Director Christophe Gans, who was at the helm of the original 2006 adaptation, once again immerses viewers in the foggy city where reality and nightmares merge. The film tells the story of James Sunderland (Jeremy Irvine, «Fallen»), who receives a strange letter from his deceased wife Mary (Hannah Emily Anderson) and sets off to Silent Hill to unravel the mystery of this message.
In the trailer, you can notice scenes that echo moments from the original game, but you can also expect the film to offer a new perspective on the familiar story. Among the shots are flashbacks showing the characters before the city was engulfed in fog and nightmares.
The cast also includes Evie Templeton (Laura), Pierce Egan (Eddie Dombrowski), and Robert Strange (Pyramid Head). The music is once again by the iconic Akira Yamaoka, who created the soundtrack for the original game series.
The film «Return to Silent Hill» will be released worldwide on January 23, 2026, and the Russian premiere will take place on January 22.
