Game fans have found a cut fragment from the prologue, which was supposed to precede the famous scene of Geralt bathing in Vizima.
Players would first find themselves in the palace garden. There, Emhyr would meet the gardener and try to chop down a tree with an axe, symbolically emphasizing his power over the region.
The axe, stuck in the trunk, can later be seen in the palace courtyard — the element has been preserved in the final version, but its context has disappeared.
Fans suggest that the scene was supposed to show Emhyr as a more rigid and authoritarian ruler. Initially, Geralt was supposed to meet him at a military tribunal, but the developers chose a more peaceful option.
The fragment was recreated by modders in the Brothers In Arms – Ultimate Edition modification with the addition of many details and fixes.
