The game's sales were protected by Denuvo all this time.

Recently, Hi-Fi Rush returned to the Russian Steam (the game is now published by Krafton, not Bethesda). Now a small technical update has been released for the game.

The developers announced that they are removing the Denuvo protection system:

Please note that even after removing Denuvo, our anti-piracy features will remain active and will not affect normal gameplay. This change is intended to ensure more stable and efficient service operation. We sincerely thank all players who continue to support the game using legal methods.

The well-known Denuvo cracker under the nickname voices38 reacted to this. He quickly broke the weakened Hi-Fi Rush protection and explained his motivation:

I thought it would be interesting to crack VMProtect + the publisher virtualized its own DRM inside it, which replaced Denuvo — this is my little side quest.
