The game's writers decided to casually kill off one of the key characters in the main storyline.
Activision has shared a new Black Ops 7 trailer timed to coincide with the start of the first season in the new Call of Duty. The footage shows Alden Dorn, a minor antagonist in the main storyline, killing Emma Keegan with a shot to the head, and then forcibly enlisting protagonist David Mason in the «Synapse» program.
Commentators under the video joke about how easily and for no apparent reason the writers killed Emma Keegan, and believe that the developers will definitely bring her back into the game later, drawing parallels with the events of Modern Warfare 3.
