The project is based on the cycle of novellas \"Tales of Dunk and Egg,\" which takes place about a hundred years before the events of the original series. The plot centers on the wandering knight Duncan, nicknamed Dunk (Peter Claffey), and his young squire Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell), who hides his noble origins.
