In the latest GeForce Game Ready 591.44 driver, NVIDIA has restored PhysX support on RTX 50 series video cards in a number of popular games. Now physics is again processed using the GPU, which increases performance in some older projects.

PhysX support is back in the following games:

  • Alice: Madness Returns
  • Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
  • Batman: Arkham City
  • Batman: Arkham Origins
  • Borderlands 2
  • Mafia II
  • Metro 2033
  • Metro: Last Light
  • Mirror’s Edge

Previously, PhysX stopped working on RTX 50 after NVIDIA dropped 32-bit CUDA support. Because of this, physical effects in older titles were only processed by the processor, which reduced performance.

In addition, the update fixes stability, performance, and visual artifact issues in Battlefield 6, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Black Myth: Wukong, and Monster Hunter: World.

The GeForce Game Ready 591.44 driver is now available for download on the official NVIDIA website.
