Guillermo del Toro calls God of War one of the most cinematic games in history
Shadow of the Colossus director considers it a "masterpiece".
The famous director Guillermo del Toro, who was responsible for "Pan's Labyrinth" and the recent "Frankenstein", turned out to be a gamer. In a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, he was asked about the best game of all time, and del Toro unhesitatingly singled out the modern parts of the God of War series from Santa Monica Studio.
God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok are very cinematic and technological, comparing them to expensive films.
Separately, Guillermo del Toro singled out the scene of Kratos' battle with Baldur, comparing it to a fight from the series "Peaky Blinders."
What a great video game!
In addition to God of War, Guillermo del Toro mentioned BioShock, Death Stranding, Metal Gear Solid, Left 4 Dead, Red Dead Redemption and Shadow of the Colossus, which he called a "masterpiece".
