The premiere of the first game from Wildflower Interactive, founded by Naughty Dog veteran Bruce Straley, will take place at The Game Awards 2025 ceremony.
Bruce Straley, co-creator of The Last of Us and director of Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 4, will present a new game for the first time in nine years. His studio, Wildflower Interactive, will showcase its debut project at The Game Awards 2025 ceremony, which will take place on the night of December 11-12.
The announcement was accompanied by a short teaser: the video shows a drawn forest and a bird sitting on a road sign. Nothing else happens — only the logos of Wildflower Interactive and The Game Awards appear in the finale. The name of the game has not yet been revealed, but judging by the style of the video, it can be assumed that this is a small-scale drawn project with visuals in the spirit of cel-shading.
For Straley, this is his first personal project since Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, released in 2016. After seventeen years at Naughty Dog, he left the studio, explaining his departure with professional burnout, and disappeared from the industry for several years. In 2022, the developer founded Wildflower Interactive — a small studio with a fully remote work format.
The team has brought together veterans from Santa Monica Studio, Double Fine, and other well-known teams. According to Straley, Wildflower's goal is to «bring joy and humanity back to the game creation process».
