Cyberpunk 2077 Quest Director Explains Why Players Liked Romances with Panam and Judy, But Not River — He Was Created by a Woman
Не все идеи разработчиков получили широкое признание в сообществе.
In December, fans and CDPR celebrated the fifth anniversary of Cyberpunk 2077. The developers are talking to journalists and sharing memories of working on the project.
Cyberpunk 2077 Quest Director Paweł Sasko spoke with The Gamer and talked about the specifics of creating romantic storylines.
In the community, many players were not thrilled with River Ward's storyline due to his intrusiveness, but the developers didn't want it to turn out that way:
That was not our intention. He's just a guy who will always protect you, no matter what.
Paweł added that River was developed by a woman, i.e. his image is not a stereotypical "male" view of the hero.
According to the developer, this reaction arises from the fact that each person approaches romance differently:
Romance and love in our lives is a personal and unique feeling. We love different people in different ways.
