Not all players were able to appreciate the new content.
The authors of the medieval open-world RPG Wartales recently released the premium DLC The Curse of Rigel (or "Проклятие Ригеля").
According to the plot, the king orders the knights to go to the county of Rigel — something is happening in the Thicket, and they have to figure out the reasons for the disaster:
Locals whisper about the Thicket, such a dense ancient forest that sunlight does not penetrate through the crowns. They say the Thicket distorts the minds of those who enter under the arches of trees. For several months, strange attacks have been taking place in the county, peasants are dying, hunters are disappearing among the roots, and the howling of animals echoes in the darkness.
During the journey into the Thicket, the heroes will encounter monsters. If you manage to survive in a fight with them, you can get additional powers:
Those who survive the attack of these creatures can receive not only scars, but also a piece of the Thicket's power. Learn to use the new powers of fighters or resist the wild power that has subdued many before you. In the darkness of the Thicket, the line between hunter and prey blurs, and in the end you may find that the beast is hiding not in the forest, but inside you.
The first reviews of The Curse of Rigel DLC for Wartales are "mixed", with a rating of 62%. Some players complain about technical problems: their saves "crash" and they cannot access the new content.
