It was previously known that Sony had an exclusive agreement with the developers, but the exact terms were not disclosed.
Sony has officially confirmed that Phantom Blade Zero will remain a PlayStation 5 console exclusive for at least 12 months. This is indicated by a small print note in the new trailer released along with the release date announcement.
The note clarifies that the game is coming to PS5 and PC, and versions for other consoles will not appear until at least a year after release. Since the premiere is scheduled for September 9, 2026, a potential port for Xbox Series X|S may not be released until September 2027, if it happens at all.
Phantom Blade Zero is being created by the Chinese studio S-Game and is positioned as a wuxia-action RPG with an emphasis on fast-paced battles, combos, and boss fights. The project tells the story of a mercenary named Soul, who is accused of murder and trying to find out the truth. The authors promise a dark visual style, a variety of weapons, and staged fights inspired by Eastern martial arts.
