The company continues to work on supporting backward compatibility of games from Switch on Switch 2.
Nintendo has introduced another Switch 2 system update aimed at improving backward compatibility with games from the original console. The patch has fixed a number of technical issues in ten projects at once.
The following received fixes:
- Blade of Darkness
- Game Dev Story
- Little Nightmares: Complete Edition
- Miitopia
- Moji Yuugi
- Resident Evil 4
- Solid Void – Nature Puzzles
- Sports Party
- Streets of Rage 4
- Venture Towns
Although the company does not disclose the list of fixes for each title, Nintendo notes that they should all now work more stably on Swtich 2.
Previously, some of these games launched on Switch 2 with noticeable glitches. Miitopia, while remaining formally playable, suffered from graphical artifacts and incorrect textures. In Resident Evil 4 and Blades of Darkness, players encountered saving errors and problems that arose in certain episodes.
However, not all backward compatibility issues have been resolved. Nintendo warns that A Hat in Time still remains virtually inoperable on Switch 2. Work on fixes continues.
