Bethesda has published its annual letter and left a mysterious message in it. Fans are confident that the developers are hinting at the appearance of a new cryptid as early as 2026.
Bethesda presented the traditional annual letter about the future of Fallout 76 and hid an encrypted hint about the content of 2026 in it. Creative Director John Rush and Producer Bill LaCoste concluded the address with a mysterious phrase attributed to an unknown character: «The Barndoors in Graninger Farmstead open once twilight has drawn nigh».
Fans quickly suspected a hidden meaning. A Reddit user with the nickname NorthernLow pointed out that the first letters of the keywords in the phrase add up to the word Bigfoot. This was enough for the theory about the possible appearance of Bigfoot to begin to spread rapidly throughout the community.
Interest was also fueled by the December Burning Springs update, released on December 2, 2025. After its installation, players discovered large footprints in several locations, resembling bare footprints. They are found on the Graninger Farm, near the Starlight Drive-In, and in the wooded area north of the Canyon Checkpoint.
If the community's assumptions are correct, Fallout 76 may indeed receive another legendary cryptid in 2026.
