Larian founder Sven Vincke said in an interview:
We are still planning early access. It's our strategy, especially thanks to the involvement of the community. It was an important part of the development of Divinity: Original Sin 1 and 2, as well as Baldur’s Gate 3.
Vincke explains that early access helps improve games:
Games are significantly improved through early access. When players are involved, it creates additional motivation and increases their participation, so you get a really valuable result — even if it is sometimes painful for developers. Sometimes you have to admit that the fans are right and we were wrong.
He added:
This requires additional effort, but leads to a better game, which is the goal.
The experience of Baldur’s Gate 3 shows that this approach is justified: the RPG went through early access from 2020 to 2023 and received many awards.
