Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software announced that global sales of Hogwarts Legacy have exceeded 40 million copies.
At the end of March 2025, according to Bloomberg, sales exceeded 34 million copies. Thus, the game sold an additional 6 million copies in the following eight months.
The game was first released on February 10, 2023, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). Later, ports appeared on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 5, 2023, on Nintendo Switch on November 14, 2023, and an improved version for Nintendo Switch 2 became available on June 5, 2025.
