Shotgun King is a roguelike strategy game that rethinks classic chess. The entire army of the black king has fled, so the player is left with only the king himself, a shotgun, and the need to survive at all costs, avoiding check and checkmate.
Each turn, the player can either move the king or shoot at an enemy piece. After the shot, you need to spend an action to reload the weapon. To complete the level, you need to destroy the opponent's king. Between levels, the player chooses one of two random pairs of cards: one strengthens the king, the other strengthens the opponents.
One game session lasts about 20 minutes on average. The game features 15 levels of difficulty, an upgrade card system, an endless mode, as well as a chase mode in which enemies constantly attack the king from all sides of the board.
