Gran Turismo 7 continues to solidify its status as the most successful installment in the series.
During a roundtable with journalists at the Gran Turismo World Series 2025 final held in Fukuoka, Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi revealed that the game currently has over two million active users per month. According to him, this figure is not only maintained but continues to grow.
Yamauchi noted that this dynamic is atypical for projects that have been on sale for several years. The producer emphasized that Gran Turismo 7 is experiencing the best period in the history of the franchise, and neither Polyphony Digital nor PlayStation have encountered anything like this before.
According to Yamauchi, the increased interest in the game is largely due to active post-release support. Recent updates provided additional momentum to the audience — the major free Spec III (version 1.65) and the paid Power Pack DLC, which expanded both single-player and competitive content.
The combination of regular free updates and large paid DLC allows the team to experiment with race formats and maintain long-term interest in the game, which directly reflects the steady growth of the active Gran Turismo 7 audience.
As a reminder, Gran Turismo 7 sales exceeded 14 million copies back in January 2025, while the entire series surpassed the 100 million copies mark in June of this year. Since then, these figures have, of course, continued to grow.
