The new season will adapt the "International Assassins Arc."
Studio MAPPA has officially confirmed the production of the second season of the "Chainsaw Man" anime. The announcement took place at the Jump Festa ’26 event, where the first teaser trailer and key visual for the sequel were also presented.
The second season will adapt the story arc "International Assassins," in which mercenaries and killers from all over the world come to Japan to hunt for the heart of the main character, Denji.
This arc directly continues the events of the "Reze Arc." Accordingly, the second season will pick up the narrative after the finale of the full-length film "Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc," which adapts chapters 38 to 52 of the manga. "International Assassins" covers chapters 53 to 71. The film is still being shown in Russian cinemas and is also already available for home viewing.
So far, this is only a formal confirmation of production. The fact that the anime would get a sequel was obvious, but now MAPPA has announced that it is specifically about the second season, and not a new full-length film. The release date and other details have not yet been disclosed.
