Total War series VP Roger Collum commented on the development status of Total War: Medieval III and the estimated release date of the game. According to him, the development of Medieval III will take several more years, and the studio is not trying to hide this fact.

At the same time, he jokingly expressed confidence that the team would still "outpace" the next installment of The Elder Scrolls, directly addressing Bethesda with an offer to "accept the challenge for all of us."

Collum also clarified the meaning of the term "preliminary development," which caused concern among some of the audience. According to him, this is not a project "at the level of ideas": Medieval III already exists in the form of playable builds, and key systems — including sieges, battle formations, and population mechanics — are in active testing.

The team intends to continue sharing news, listening to the community, and actively involving players in the discussion of ideas and mechanics in order to create not just a sequel, but to "revive historical Total War" and turn it into "the best Total War sandbox set in the Middle Ages."
