Sony's console took first place in terms of revenue and number of devices sold.
In November, PS5 became the best-selling console in the US — both in terms of the number of devices sold and in dollar revenue. Nintendo Switch 2, which had confidently led the market for several months after its launch, dropped to second place in both indicators. This was reported by Circana analyst Matt Piscatella.
Since its launch in 2020, PS5 has been in consistently high demand thanks to a strong lineup of exclusives. Switch 2, in turn, set a sales speed record among consoles, becoming one of the most popular new products of the year thanks to the support of key Nintendo franchises.
The turning point in November is explained by several factors: large discounts on consoles as part of Black Friday, as well as the traditional pre-New Year rush. In addition, the release of the major blockbuster Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 further fueled interest in PlayStation.
