According to Gazeta.Ru, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Mikhail Delyagin sent a proposal to the Ministry of Digital Development to create a patriotic analogue of Call of Duty, in which a Russian soldier or intelligence officer would shoot at "representatives of unfriendly countries".
At the same time, Mr. Delyagin is well aware that such a project could cost hundreds of millions of dollars, so he suggested that the government organize preferential loans and tax breaks for potential developers.
According to Delyagin, creating a Russian analogue of Call of Duty is a "strategically important task" for the Russian Federation, since unfriendly countries use video games to spread "Russophobic propaganda".
It was Delyagin who previously asked Roskomnadzor to check the Call of Duty series for Russophobia and ban it.
