Sony has begun recalling Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun from PlayStation Store users who received the game for free due to a pricing error, almost two months after the incident.
Users received emails from PlayStation Support confirming the refund, although no money was paid for the game.
The pricing error became known in mid-October, when Shadow Tactics could be obtained for free on the PlayStation Store. It was first noticed by informant Wario64, who reported on October 17, 2025: "Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is free on PSN after a few steps."
Later, Wario64 confirmed that Sony had begun recalling the game from users who obtained it in this way, which coincides with reports from players who noticed the game disappearing from their libraries after refund notifications.
Shadow Tactics is a real-time strategy game set in 17th century Japan.
