Previously, insider Jukan reported that AMD was allegedly considering transferring the production of next-generation video cards to Samsung's facilities using 2nm or 4nm process technologies.

However, insider Kepler_L2 refuted this information, stating that the graphics chips have already passed the tape-out stage — the final stage of design, in which the microchip circuit is approved and transferred to the factory for the production of test wafers. According to him, production is carried out at TSMC facilities using the N3P process.

This refutation raised a new question. If AMD really stays with TSMC, does this mean that the next generation of video cards will be released as early as the end of 2026? According to Kepler_L2, the answer is no. The release of the RDNA 5 architecture is expected only in mid-2027.

Thus, the coming year for the Radeon line will likely pass without major announcements — AMD may limit itself to updates of the current RDNA 4 generation.
