Actor Jack Black, who once again voiced Bowser in the animated film "Super Mario: Galactic Movie", said in an interview with GamesRadar+ that Super Mario Galaxy fans will be satisfied with the film adaptation.
According to Black, the filmmakers paid special attention to details and references to the original game. The actor noted that he is bound by a non-disclosure agreement, but emphasized the presence of a large number of easter eggs for fans of the universe.
«Anyone who loves this universe will be very pleased with how it has been brought to the big screen».
Chris Pratt (Mario), Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach) and Charlie Day (Luigi), as well as Keegan-Michael Key and Kevin Michael Richardson, are returning to their roles in the sequel. Brie Larson, who will voice Princess Rosalina, and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr. have also joined the cast.
The film is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, and the screenplay was written by Matthew Fogel. Illumination and Universal are producing with the participation of Nintendo.
The premiere of "Super Mario: Galactic Movie" in theaters is scheduled for April 3, 2026.
