The year 2026 is just around the corner, and viewers have already decided which films they are most looking forward to. The analytical portal VegasInsider studied Google search statistics and compiled a rating of the most anticipated releases of next year.

The absolute leader in the number of search queries was "Avengers: Judgment Day". Over the year, American Google users searched for the film almost 10 million times — more than any other upcoming release.

In second place is "Spider-Man: Brand New Day", which also belongs to the Marvel cinematic universe. It was searched about 4.4 million times during the year.

Rounding out the top four are "Toy Story 5" and "Scream 7", which scored 3.6 million search queries each. The top ten also includes "Supergirl", "The Cat in the Hat", "Masters of the Universe", the Street Fighter film adaptation, Christopher Nolan's "Odyssey" and a new version of "Wuthering Heights" with Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.

These statistics confirm that, despite a series of failures in recent years, Marvel still has brands and names that can attract a mass audience. If the correlation between search interest and box office receipts persists, "Avengers: Judgment Day" risks becoming the biggest release of 2026.

The film, directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, will unite the heroes of "Fantastic Four", "Avengers" and "X-Men". The role of Doctor Doom will be played by Robert Downey Jr., and the premiere is scheduled for December 18, 2026.

It is noteworthy that the release of Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" threequel is scheduled for the same day. As insiders previously reported, Warner Bros. does not plan to postpone the premiere, as the date was announced first. Thanks to this, December 18 has already received the jocular nickname "Dunesday" — by analogy with "Barbieheimer".

However, analysts consider this step risky and do not rule out serious financial consequences for the film "Dune: Part Three". According to the same Google statistics, Villeneuve's film ranks only 22nd with approximately 397 thousand search queries.
