The experts at Digital Foundry are summarizing the gaming results of 2025. They decided to recall the released projects and highlight the best and worst PC ports among them.
The list of the best PC ports of 2025 includes:
- Assassin's Creed Shadows
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
- Doom: The Dark Ages
Digital Foundry noted the good optimization in these games. According to their experts, the ray tracing implementation in the new DOOM "significantly outperforms the competition" - not only in performance, but also in RT coverage and stability.
The list of the worst PC ports of 2025 includes:
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered — "On modern high-performance PCs, stuttering seems even worse than it was on the "hardware" of 2006," experts attribute this to the peculiarities of Unreal Engine 5.
- The Outer Worlds 2 — problems with shader compilation; ray tracing is poorly implemented (lots of "noise", severely impacts performance).
- Monster Hunter Wilds — even after patches , performance issues are encountered, and players with 8 GB of video memory may observe "blurry" textures.
