Koei Tecmo has hinted that a "nostalgic game" may return in 2026. In an interview with Famitsu, the head of AAA Game Studio made a hint.
Yosuke Hayashi stated:
Our studio will continue to develop new projects. At the same time... this nostalgic game might return?!
Fans immediately noticed that there are not many options, and most are hoping for Dead or Alive 7. The series has sold over 10 million copies, and activity on social networks and Reddit confirms its commercial power.
Although the last main installment was released in 2019, and Dead or Alive 6 received average ratings, fans are hoping for a full-fledged return of the series. Other possible projects mentioned include Captain Tsubasa, Toukiden, and Monster Rancher, but the main focus is on DOA.
