2025 Became the Year of Ninjas and Samurai. PlayStation Presented a Selection of Games About Skilled Assassins
Although 2025 was rich in projects, some of them remained in the shadows. PlayStation highlighted games where you can feel like a ninja or samurai.
In Assassin's Creed Shadows, players control two heroes — a ninja and a samurai, explore feudal Japan, and perform stealth assassinations. Ghost of Yōtei has a "Kurosawa mode," and the main character, mercenary Atsu, uses stealth and ranged combat skills, including kunai and smoke bombs.
Ninja Gaiden 4 focuses on speed, combos, and mobility, while Ragebound combines modern design with retro aesthetics and strategic battlefield management. Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Remastered focuses on fencing and battles with demons, and Shinobi: Art of Vengeance will bring back the classic 2D ninja platformer. In Ninja Five-O, you can use ninja skills to rescue hostages and fight crime.
