The original PlayStation 1 emulator, ePSXe, has released its first major update in nearly 10 years — version 2.0.18.
The main innovation is native support for .CHD images, which are smaller in size and maintain quality without loss, along with the usual .ISO.
The update improves sound and reverberation, increases game compatibility, fixes bugs, and optimizes performance. DPI Awareness support has been added for correct display on screens with high pixel density. Configuration errors have been fixed and HLE BIOS support has been improved.
Among the games with improved compatibility are Ghost in the Shell, Dinocrisis 1 and 2, Wipeout, Metal Gear Solid: Special Missions, and Samurai Shodown III. The update is available for Windows in the downloads section on the official website.
