Sony has officially confirmed that the PlayStation Stars loyalty program in its current form will be closed. Players who have been collecting virtual points for years should spend them before they lose their value.
The service will cease operations on November 2, 2026. New users cannot join from May 2025, and current members have less than a year to exchange points for real bonuses — wallet top-ups or full versions of games.
Points were awarded for purchases in the PlayStation Store and completion of simple tasks in the mobile application. Unclaimed points will disappear irretrievably after the program closes.
The reason for the closure is cited as low popularity: the complex system and mandatory use of the mobile application have deterred many users. Sony has announced a new version of the program, but details have not yet been disclosed.
The advice is simple: check your balance in the PS App and exchange points for games or wallet top-ups while PlayStation Stars is still working.
