Rumors of a remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag have been circulating for a long time. In November of last year, dataminers noticed traces in the AC Shadows files indicating the existence of such a project.
Now there is a new reason to build theories — Ubisoft Nordic's New Year's greeting contains a mention of pirates:
From 2025 to 2026, our excitement does not weaken. Assassins jump across roofs, pirates equip ships. Operatives burst in with tactical somersaults. Another year of Ubisoft worlds is already before us. We wish you a safe and happy New Year!
However, there is a nuance: Ubisoft has another game about pirates — Skull and Bones; part of the greeting could refer to it, not Black Flag.
On the other hand, there is information from insiders: a remake called «Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced» may be released at the end of March 2026.
