Monster Hunter Wilds Being Prepared for Switch 2 — Version Found in Game Files

Data extracted directly from the game files has surfaced online. According to Famiboards users, including Kysen, a Chinese team data mining the PC version of Monster Hunter Wilds has discovered direct references to a version for the new Nintendo console. These are not vague assumptions, but specific presets and ready-made function descriptions.

Particular attention was drawn to the graphics settings, directly labeled as Switch 2. According to the data, the game targets 30 frames per second using DLSS — this aligns with early rumors about NVIDIA technology in the new console. Separate DLSS presets were also found, different from the PC version, indicating a dedicated hardware configuration.

Mentions of multiplayer are also present in the files. One message states:

Connect Nintendo Switch 2 consoles to create or join a lobby using local wireless communication.

According to the data, up to four people will be able to play in local mode.

Running the Switch 2 presets on PC (without linking to final performance) revealed that the game runs in 1080p in docked mode, and the shadow quality is higher than the "Very Low" setting in the PC version. At the same time, the Switch 2 version uses typical optimizations: reduced display distance for NPCs and more frequent character "culling".

The Switch 2 version will handle NPCs differently — their display distance is reduced by about half, and the character "switching" system now occurs more frequently.

There is no official announcement yet, but the number of direct mentions in the files makes the Switch 2 version an unlikely coincidence.
