Clovers Studio has confirmed that work on the Okami sequel is in its early stages, and the release is still a long way off. This was announced in a New Year's message by studio head Kento Koyama and game creator Hideki Kamiya.
Although the team has grown and spent the last year working intensively, the prospect of a premiere is still far away. 2026 will also be dedicated to preparing the game.
The studio has expanded, hired new specialists, and opened new offices in Tokyo and Osaka.
Kamiya reported:
We have created an elite team of highly skilled professionals who share our ideals. And although chaos is still full of life, our days are filled with joy and creativity.
Ultimately, everyone at CLOVERS is united by one goal: to ensure our players enjoy the game. This is our sole mission. It will be so this year, next year, and in the future. Together with my like-minded people, I look forward to another year of unbridled chaos.
Clovers reminded that two years have passed since the announcement of the Okami sequel, but work on the project continues.
