Players Are Rapidly Leaving Rematch - Active Community Reduced to a Minimum

Since its release, Rematch has experienced a catastrophic loss of players. At launch, Steam had up to 92,841 concurrent players, but now the peak does not exceed 5,000, which means a drop of more than 90%.

Sloclap's game offered a fresh look at the football genre, closer to a real 5-on-5 game than EA FC, but users are gradually leaving. Problems with network code and desynchronization quickly repel players.

The author of an article on TheGamer portal noted:

The peculiar nature of the game engine - the way players interact with the ball and each other - has led to the emergence of certain "techniques" that are almost impossible to counter. The execution of some moves was so strange that it felt like you were suffering from a bug, rather than demonstrating real skill.

The rating system in Rematch also does not take into account the skill level - players of all ranks end up in the same lobbies, which turns leveling up in ranked games into a race against time, rather than a race for skill.

Indie studio Sloclap faces limited resources: new features are added slowly, bugs are not fixed immediately. These factors are gradually destroying the community, and a revival of the game's popularity is unlikely, despite the strong foundation of the project.
