Steam Started 2026 by Setting a New Record for Concurrent Users - Winter Sale Ending Soon

It seems many are rushing to stock up their Steam libraries with games.

In early January 2026, Steam demonstrated outstanding online performance metrics. The SteamDB service registered a new record.

Peak online reached a milestone of 41,816,052 concurrent users. At the time the record was set, 13,399,958 accounts held the "in-game" status.

The Steam Winter Sale will last until January 5, 21:00 Moscow time — various games and DLCs are available with significant discounts.
