The game takes place on Earth in an alternative 2050: humanity is on the brink of survival due to wars, natural disasters, and zombies — their numbers exceed the number of humans by 10,000 times.
Local "zombies" appeared as a side effect of a food supplement intended to help fight hunger — the corporation hid the dangerous consequences of long-term consumption of the supplement.
The release of Carmageddon: Rogue Shift is scheduled for February 6, 2026, on PC and PlayStation 5. The price will be 40 dollars.
The game features "roguelike" elements: if a car crashes, Carmageddon continues — another driver will take the vacant spot, and the challenge will start over.
