Detroit: Become Human Sold Nearly a Million Copies in Two Weeks - Analysts
Although Detroit: Become Human was released in 2018, the game is experiencing a new wave of popularity on Steam.
According to Alinea Analytics, approximately 993,000 copies were sold from December 21, 2025, to January 5, 2026 - almost a million in two weeks. This made the project the second best-selling on the platform after ARC Raiders with approximately 1.2 million copies.
The reason for the surge in popularity was a record discount: the price of the game fell from $40 to $4 (130 rubles in Russia) - the largest in Steam history.
Detroit: Become Human is an emotional game with an open-ended plot. It resembles games like Beyond: Two Souls, Heavy Rain, and Until Dawn, providing control over the characters' actions, allowing them to influence the development of the story with multiple endings and branching concepts.
The peak number of concurrent players on January 4, 2026, reached 25,615. The game proves that high-quality projects can sell even years after release.
