The World of Crimson Desert is Bigger Than in Red Dead Redemption 2
At the New Game+ Showcase, Pearl Abyss talked about Crimson Desert, an upcoming open-world fantasy RPG.
According to Will Powers, a marketing and strategic planning specialist, the map in the game is larger than in Red Dead Redemption 2. He also noted that the world is at least twice the size of the explorable territory in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
The developers emphasize that size is not the main thing: Pywel will be incredibly interactive. Many elements, including the crafting system and houses, have not yet been shown. Even the already demonstrated Sky Isles with puzzles are shrouded in mystery.
Powers added that players will be able to fight dragons, but it is unknown if they can be killed. The giant mechanical dragon Golden Star also remains in question.
Crimson Desert will be released on March 19, 2026, on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
