Full version of Towerborne will be released in late February with new content and a forge system
Towerborne officially leaves early access. Stoic announced that the full version of the game will be released on February 26, 2026, along with a major 1.0 update that completely changes the way content works and is distributed.
The game, published by Xbox Game Studios Publishing, will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PC (Xbox and Steam), PlayStation 5 and will be available on Game Pass (Ultimate and Premium). The key innovation is the abandonment of the free-to-play model and a permanent connection to the network.
The developers note that over the past year they have reworked the basics of the game to make it more accessible and friendly. Update 1.0 adds a full-fledged storyline with the main antagonist, new side quests and a redesigned order board, two new bosses, a new "Brutal" difficulty level, an updated map with a coastal biome, new skills, a forge system for modifying items, and a soundtrack by Austin Wintory. There are no microtransactions - all visual elements can be obtained in the game.
The release of version 1.0 will be the result of Stoic's collaboration with the community, which actively influenced the development of Towerborne in early access.
